Alamo Chamber of Commerce Alamo, Texas, located in the Rio Grande Valley, an area nicknamed the “Land of Two Summers”, is a town known as “The Refuge to the Valley” located in the irrigated area of southern Hidalgo County, Texas. Alamo has a population of 18,353 as of the 2010 census. As the Rio Grande Valley area continues to grow the Alamo Chamber and the City of Alamo, Texas are a great location for new industries and ideal for tourism and winter visitors better know as “Winter Texans”. It is close to major shopping areas, including Mexico. For the nature enthusiast it is situated near the popular Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge.
